Second Daughter – 04/21/14

… and at times she remembers Venice, and not the Venice of the tourists and selling and quick so-called Italian food … no, not that Venice…but the Venice of early thoughts, of the Venice only seen at sunrise or sunset from the sides of the eyes, of the Venice one cannot purpose to see, but the Venice the city reveals and delights with to those the city wishes to breath these views and images upon.  And so Venice, like so much of life and love is just not the tourist journey, but of what was imparted, embedded, and painted within, and the most important, those that last and live and animate and bless within us the longest – many times for the entire journey of our lives – are those which were given to us and not those things we had once thought of to pursue.  For the desire to pursue, that also was imparted by the things we were given by others.  Love, Dad
