Third Sister – 04/28/14

…and moving towards the morning room, she paused and beheld and contemplated for a moment the bouquet of flowers from the garden she had arranged last evening specifically, so that when she walked by in the morning with her tray of buttered toast, two soft-boiled eggs in Limoges cups, and her brewed tea in the rose decorated tea pot and her teacup with violets and yellow pansies, and the assortment of jams – as was her usual routine and discipline of the morning – just one of many routines and disciplines of this stage of her life – oh, just a different theater with different lighting and props and…different audience, some have left, some have arrived, a few have stayed.  But…what is this that has happened, two flowers have fallen, the arrangement, her arrangement, is no longer perfect, no longer as she had intended, and with the tray in her hands she could not fix it…and so the two flowers remained, and perhaps that was good, she thought, in time.  Love, Brother
