Third Sister – 10/13/14
…and with a certain age comes a certain beauty, a certain grace bestowed gently upon the eyes, and mind, and heart and soul and hands. For now, as she moves through the fields of poppies, bright and fragrant, her hands touch the flowers, the bushes, the poppies, lightly, of course, gently in their touch and passing, blessing, she hoped, all within her reach, though deeply within, she wondered how is it even possible to bless something so richly and wonderfully made with beauty, and peace, and abundant life by God. And as she walked, strolling, taking a few steps and stopping, whatever that is called, she realized that with her eyes and hands, and her nose, as the scent of the poppies was so lovely, she partook of the handiwork of God, she saw it and touched, and smelled it, thinking now, as she was of a certain age, how and why and would she see and touch and be with God.
