Claude Monet | Bridge over a Pond of Water Lilies | The Metropolitan Museum of Art (metmuseum.org)
Third Sister – 09/20/20
…and in the afternoon, on her walk around the garden, a little slower now than…ten years ago…yes, she’ll stick with that story…she also looked forward to coming to the bridge, whether to cross it or to pause for a moment to admire, to savor and drink in everything all around, never quite sure in those moments why she eventually did not cross over, but rather turning, she took another path, another way back to the house. “How odd,” she would think at times, and other times…well, there was no thought, if that was possible…and that’s what she would ponder, the possibility of no thought, which…was not a possibility, and she was oddly happy with that conclusion…always. And today, she turned away from the bridge and took a few steps away, then stopped and turned back. No, this day she would cross the bridge, because that also was a possibility still.
