… and what we think of ourselves … when we pause and reflect in peace, when we think in moments such as this, most of the times … well in those few times, yes, that’s better, more accurate, more towards the truth, oh yes, the truth … like two mirrors facing each other, truth and self-reflection, empty of image when one is missing, when one is deliberately broken or discarded, without true image, except for lies which cascade and go on forever…
But there are times, even for a young person, when there are changes in life that cause, or should cause, thought, losing a potential “special” friend when they just leave you, as some do, some without warning, some without a word, or they move away or … just become gone … or when you change schools, or graduate … and so on … when parents change while still in place, when something, someone, good happens to a brother or sister…
And she wondered more about mirrors and reflections … and … she understood that … within the eyes and minds of others … yes … there is an image, perhaps just a sketch or a pencil drawing still being drawn, the play of light and shadows and shading upon the face not yet complete, not yet known, but still beginning to emerge, a thought carefully and slowly moving towards understanding, especially within those of a heart of wisdom and kindness, those of whom there is no need to fear.
And what does that sketch, that carefully drawn or scribbled image portray? For perhaps within the image there can be seen … within the eyes, and smile, and words…
For all images, all songs sung within, are from their souls, for that is the best mirror, the best companion to self-reflection, a kiss of love and gentleness, a blessing indeed upon the soul.
